The Wrap

On a Saturday in the early 1950s, Greenville County came to town. Mill families rode in from Monaghan, Poe and Judson, and farm families from Travelers Rest and Fountain Inn parked along Main Street. They shopped at stores like Meyers-Arnold and Belk-Simpson, which sold good clothes and Sunday shoes, ate at the Kress and Woolworth lunch counters, and caught a picture show at the Carolina Theatre.
