If you're voting today, polls are open statewide from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Anyone in line by 7 p.m. can still vote, so don't leave the line. We suggest going early. Election director Conway Belangia expects lines in the morning and again in the evening.
Bring a photo ID. Accepted ones include a South Carolina driver's license, a DMV ID card, a U.S. passport, a military ID and a concealed weapons permit. Check your paper ballot before you submit it to make sure it lists the candidates you want.
Here's what to do if something goes wrong
| If this happens | Do this |
|---|---|
| You forgot your photo ID | Cast a provisional ballot after signing an affidavit citing a reasonable impediment, such as lack of transportation, disability or work schedule |
| You still have an absentee ballot | Hand-deliver it to your county election office by 7 p.m. |
| Your ballot has a problem | Tell a poll worker |
